Despite not having any formal musical background, Axel Brizzy made history by becoming the youngest Singaporean rapper to top the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Chart in Singapore within two hours of its release in 2018. He has also performed at music festivals such as SHINE Festival and Sundown Festival.
What did you have to fight against to become a GAME CHANGER?
Myself. I was my own enemy. I have always been an introvert and never really knew how to socialize, let alone perform on stage. My stage fright has always gotten the better of me. It has taken me some time, but I managed to overcome my fears by embracing the adrenaline and enjoy the whole process instead.
What is your defining moment as a GAME CHANGER?
My defining moment was when I performed at SHINE Festival back in 2017. It was the biggest crowd I had ever performed in front of at that point in my life. It led to bigger things thereafter and was indeed a humbling moment which I still remember until today.
What will be your advice to others?
Kick down everything that stands in your way and leaves no stones unturned. Keep going despite the circumstances and never allow yourself to be the reason that stops you from achieving your dreams.
