Since emerging into the DJ scene some four years ago, Reiko Zhang has performed at various premiere nightclubs locally - including the Colour Run in Singapore in 2017. These days, she can be found regularly at world-renowned F. Club in Singapore where she holds residency.
What did you have to fight against to become a GAME CHANGER?
Apart from the competition with my female counterparts, I had to face adverse treatment from the senior DJs where things turned nasty at times. I needed to work even harder to prove myself, but thankfully, I got proper training and achieved residency at F.Club in merely six months. It wasn't easy, and it took me quite some time and effort to pull through and get the recognition from the others.
What is your defining moment as a GAME CHANGER?
When I started doing instead of hoping, chasing instead of dreaming. In 2015, I gave up my fashion design studies at LASELLE and event modeling jobs to put my full attention into training to become a DJ, and I have not looked back since.
What will be your advice to others?
Nothing worth having comes easy, and this is the same for your dreams. Keep trying and never give up, no matter how tough circumstances may be. Negative feedback can only serve to be the strength you need to push yourself harder and further.
